Product Description

by Felix Anderl (Editor)

This book reconstructs how a diversity of land knowledges has historically been reduced to understanding land only as commodity. The collection shows the consequences of this epistemological reduction and the potentials of understanding land in more diverse and sustainable ways, thereby changing our understanding of land and those living on it.

Author Biography

Felix Anderl is professor of conflict studies at the Center for Conflict Studies, Philipps-University Marburg. His research focuses on conflicts over land, food and rural development. Linking the disciplines of social movement research, international relations, and conflict research, he emphasizes field research, such as participant observation in social movements and the institutions they oppose.
