It is our duty and interest as believers that whatever happens, we can encourage ourselves in God, being assured that He can and will bring light out of darkness, peace out of trouble, and good out of evil to all that love Him and "who are the called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28). We can always find solace in the Word of God when the weight of life seems to come in like a flood if we would just hold on to, and encourage ourselves in the promises of God.

Michael Pope is the author of a previous work called 'An Encouraging Word---A 30 Day Devotional'. He is a Minister of the gospel who seeks to share with others through his writings, preaching, and teaching, the transforming power of the Word of God which he has experienced in his own life. He is a graduate of Livingston University, now known as the University of West Alabama, and Morehouse School of Religion Interdenominational Theological Center. He and his wife Juanita currently reside in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
