I reluctantly push the door open and what do I see? Monique with the biggest grin, hiding behind a pair of traditional wood snowshoes; "des raquettes!" she exclaims.
- Des raquettes? I repeat.
- Oui, Ella. Tu viens?
Follow Ella's adventures through her diary, two weeks into her new life in Montreal. Is she adapting to her new home? Is she learning to embrace winter and live in a French-speaking environment like a true Quebecer?
The story begins in English, and as it progresses, Ella (and you) will discover new French words (written in blue). As new French vocabulary is being introduced, the proportion of French words increases until the last page, which is written entirely in French!
