In her debut work, Elephants and Chopping Blocks Retain Their Natural Color, author J. Hawki combines years of experience in healthcare with a keen eye for detail to create a suspenseful psychological thriller with a strong, compelling black female protagonist. She lives with her family in Maryland and is currently writing her second book.
