Eighty Days of Faith is a true story based on the premature birth of my son, Ryan, and his eighty-day stay in the hospital. I learned a lot about faith in those long days at the hospital. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." When our son was born, weighing only two pounds, six ounces, we were given little hope that he would survive. It's easy to say that we have faith when things are going well. When we are faced with some hard realities, sometimes that faith is hard to find. This story has been on my heart for many years. In 2005 I took a five-week writing class in which I had to write something. What came out of that class was the first chapter of this book. The class instructor encouraged me to finish the book. Finally, after eight years of writing, rewriting, putting it away for months at a time, and starting again, the book is finished. I hope it will inspire you to keep the faith, even in the dark days.
