Product Description

by Ron /W Jackson (Author)

Moving to Mexico in 06 was easy; it was leaving eight years later that was difficult. Before retiring, everyone looks for Paradise, but who really finds it? Ron and Ella Jackson did. They found it in a little 500-year-old Mexican village called Ajijic and expected to live there the rest of their lives. They were passionately in love with their little village, the Mexican people, their customs and their lifestyle. Sadly though, love and passion alone were not enough to overcome the unanticipated circumstances which were forcing them to leave Mexico. While saying their goodbyes to their many Mexican, Canadian and American friends, they knew they were also saying goodbye to a country and lifestyle they had come to love.It wasn't until they had been living in Florida for almost six months, that Ron learned that living in Mexico had consequences, consequences he felt the world should know, and as a result, penned the book, "Don't Retire in Mexico."

Author Biography

Ron and his wife Ella have been married over 60, never boring years. It began in Los Angeles, and later took them to Alaska for 4 years, then Denver then Lake City, Colorado, for the next 28. In those 60 years, Ron was an Assistant Station Manager for Bonanza Airlines, an air traffic controller, an Allstate Insurance Agent, and owner developer of the Golconda Resort at Lake City and later owner of a restaurant in Sun Valley, Idaho. While working for Allstate, Ron and his family vacationed in Lake City Colorado and later bought the old summer fishing camp, called the Golconda Resort. For the next 17 years, the family worked together, building that little fishing camp into an international destination resort. Years later while living in Ajijic Mexico, Ron penned his first book, The Secret of Golconda, the story of those unimaginable 17 years. In Ajijic, after dining regularly at Tio Domingo's Restaurant and listening to the incredible stories of the owner, Salvador, he told him he was going to write a book about his life. Salvador looked at him and said, "You're Crazy." A week later, while in the restaurant, Ron asked if he'd told his family about the book. Salvador said yes, and Ron asked what they thought. His reply, "They think you're crazy too!" The book, "Love Redemption Tacos and Tortillas," was published in 2014. And now, after living in Mexico for 8 years, his new book, "Don't Retire in Mexico" with the sub title, "An Expats Reflection" will be published in August of 2015
