Finally! A resource that guides a congregation from settling for survival to embracing joyful service.

This Participant's Workbook consists of 6 weeks of Bible studies that lead to adopting a collaborative 24-month congregational action plan. Each week's study offers a prayer to open the time together, questions to encourage scriptural reflection, and questions to facilitate feedback as the congregation makes intentional decisions about its mission and ministry.

A Leader's Guide is also available.

Congregations seeking revitalization can take heart. Jesus has already prayed for their unity so that they may share his love with the world! The Does Your Church Have a Prayer? Leader's Guide presents a model of Christian transformation to guide a congregation through a journey of spiritual renewal in fulfillment of Jesus' prayer in John 17. This accompanying Participant's Guide consists of a six week plan of Bible studies that, along with sermons and worship, will help generate congregational feedback critical to establishing a twenty-four month action plan for the congregation. Each week's study offers a prayer to open the time together, questions to encourage scriptural reflection, and questions to facilitate thought and input as the congregation makes intentional decisions regarding its mission and ministry. The Leader's Guide begins with a number of biblical examples of spiritual leadership. Referring to these models, the authors offer pastors important thoughts on choosing, equipping, and encouraging leaders to collaborate with them as they enter a time of discernment. The leadership team may then assist in engaging the church in worship, Bible study, assessment of the church's current reality, discernment of the vision God has for their congregation, and its movement toward the Promised Land of discipleship. The Leader's Guide for Does Your Church Have a Prayer? lays out a plan for selecting and equipping a task force and for presenting this program of revitalization to the congregation. A detailed, six-week program of sermons and Bible studies supports the pastor and the task force in prayerfully engaging the entire congregation in forming and implementing a twenty-four month strategic ministry plan. By applying biblical principles through this intentional process of congregational engagement, churches will understand their calling as they move from a wilderness of inward focus to God's Promised Land for Jesus' disciples.
