Author Biography

Diane Edwards, MA, has been painting and teaching Norwegian Rosemaling for 35 years. She is a Master Folk Artist through the Colorado Council on the Arts. Her books have sold thousands of copies due to their excellent instruction and how to do it format that is easy to follow and informative. She lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, is married and the mother of two with three grandchildren. Diane also paints in oils and is a Signature pastelist in the Colorado Pastel Society. She has eight books in print, four about Norwegian Rosemaling and two about Swedish folk art painting. Diane teaches rosemaling in her studio in Fort Collins and has taught workshops all over the US and Canada. Her specialty is in Telemark Rosemaling but she has studied all styles with five trips to Norway and classes with dozens of Norwegian rosemalers and American rosemalers. She has also co written a Rosemaling book about Sigmund Aarseth one of Norways premier rosemalers and edited his books, Painted Rooms and Norway: Painted in Light and Color.
