Product Description

by Malon Jr. Kennedy (Illustrator), Yoko Molotov (Illustrator), Jack IV Scally (Illustrator)

These are a collection of marvellous, horrible, strange and compelling works. You are invited to ride on a wave of manic energy, as a young bi-polar man loses his grip on one reality and pierces the veil of another. Drive through the desert with a coyote, or human smuggler, until he unleashes the beast caged up inside him. Scavenge the wasteland of Brooklyn in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse with a well-armed crew at your side. Witness the horror of a lynching, when Old Louisville was new, and learn the terrible price paid in a neighbourhood that has earned its haunted reputation. Get to know a gunslinger and his robotic partner as they blaze through the American Southwest hundreds of years into the future, generations past the Great Fall. Catch your breath with a bit of poetry. Or plunge into a narrative poem that tells its own story. Feast your eyes on art and illustrations worth many thousands of words. If you enjoy the pulp fiction of many genres, but still have a literary bone in your body, this is the collection for you. When reality becomes a burden, enjoy a sojourn into the fantastic...

John Beechem is a writer from Louisville, Kentucky. He self-publishes on his website American Fantastic (americanfantastic.com), a community for writers and artists of all kinds. John has been published in the Cavalcade Literary Magazine, Tobacco Magazine and Sanitarium Magazine. He hosts the American Fantastic Radio Hour on ARTxFM (soundcloud.com/john-beechem), a community radio station, and has hosted Keep Louisville Literary, also on ARTxFM (artxfm.com). His writing encompasses many pulp genres, including horror, fantasy, and science fiction. John also writes some poetry and literary fiction. He hopes to entertain his audience, to help them escape the reality of their day to day world, but also to inject higher themes and complex characters into his stories to create quality middle-brow writing. John is influenced by writers like George R.R. Martin, Margaret Atwood, and Octavia Butler, but also by video games, comic books, and other elements of pop culture. If you would like to learn more about John or his website American Fantastic, you can follow American Fantastic on Facebook or e-mail John at americanfantastic@gmail.com. John lives with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Bella. He looks forward to the grand adventure that life has to offer them.
