Author Biography

Renee Jones-Welch, PhD is founder of With Kids In Mind Foundation. As an educator, resilience coach and advocate for children and families, Renee is passionate about learning and making life lessons fun and relatable to kids. She wrote and shared this story after her son Anthony contracted chickenpox, passed it to her and then to his youngest brother Darius. The DaPooh character and rookie reader series was derived from their growing pain adventures. Renee's most inspiring role to date is that of Grandma to granddaughters, Aaryn and Aarys. She currently serves as a board of director for multiple non-profit youth focused organizations and is a Chicagoan.
