Product Description

by Jeffrey Sanow (Author)

Join Jeffrey as he wanders around the history and the streets of the second most important city to Christianity and the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world - Damascus, Syria. Jeffrey takes us back in time to the beginnings of the oasis, the beginning of Christianity, Saul's conversion to Paul on the road from Jerusalem to Damascus, through two World Wars, the creation of the State of Israel, the Assad family as they ruled the country to today, when the US Army is performing joint military patrols with the Syrian Army.

This fascinating city has evidence of human habitation dating back 11,000 to 12,000 years, or roughly 9,000 to 10,000 BC. While large-scale urban settlement began later, archaeological findings, such as those at Tell Ramad on the outskirts, confirm the area has been settled since at least 6,300-8,000 B.C.

Join Jeffrey for an adventure back in time to understand the significance to Damascus today.
