Product Description

by C. E. One Cypress (Author), David Deborde (Author)

She came into the world under extreme circumstances. Vulnerable and fragile, her life began in a rundown orphanage.

There weren't any reliable records about this precious baby girl, so one of the nurses cradled her, looked down at her adorable face and gave her a name... Lorna.

Due to overcrowding and lack of resources, Lorna was relocated to two other orphanages, by the time she was three months old.

When Lorna reached eight months, with the overcrowding and a clerical error, she was moved to an orphanage, which happened to be tied to a worldwide adoption organization. This was a major blessing!

Within a week of relocating, she was discovered by a loving couple who couldn't get pregnant and wanted to adopt a child from another part of the world. The day the couple arrived at the orphanage, they instantly fell in love with little Lorna. However, as they completed the legal paperwork to take her back to the states, the couple felt a tug on their hearts for all of the precious, little faces they were leaving behind in that orphanage.

Back in the states, the couple provided Lorna with a warm, supportive and secure environment, and they quickly became a real family.

When Lorna turned twelve, the couple felt it was time to reveal the details of her adoption. Despite the love they all shared as a family, her parents knew this news would be very difficult for her. They sat Lorna down at the family table and unfolded the story of Lorna's adoption. Her adopted parents described the orphanage they found her in, the other kids who longed for their own parents and the lack of information about her past. She had no recorded name, medical records or birth certificate, so she didn't even know how old she actually is because she doesn't know her real birthdate.

The news overwhelmed Lorna at first and she was speechless for a few moments. After sitting for a while in silence, she looked up at her parents, and with tears in her eyes, smiled and said, "Thank you." She thanked them for following their hearts in adopting and loving her. She thanked God for blessing her, and she said, "I could still be there, alone and growing up without parents like those other children." She paused again and thought for second and said once more, "Thank you."

News of her adoption, changed Lorna, making her even more compassionate toward others; especially orphans. It also caused her not to take the many blessings in her life for granted. This new perspective on life motivated her to excellence in everything she did: her academics, sports, martial arts and student government. She felt it was her duty to fully maximize her abilities and opportunities.

But when she got into college she got caught up with wanting more. Striving to achieve and beginning to take more for granted. This helped her to become more distance from her parents and not being very close to anyone. She has let bitterness slowly sink in as she has thought more about past events.

Now achieving her goals and feeling she has control and direction, receiving a mysterious letter leaving her an entire estate, everything is about to change in her life!
