This book focuses on how to promote cross-border economic cooperation in the context of China national strategy including BRI. This book summarizes the existing regional economic development theories and sorts out the relevant theories of cross-border economic cooperation. Then, it analyzes the industrial development of China's southwestern border and neighboring countries, the main reasons of rural household poverty in the border ethnic areas by means of empirical methods, and proposes corresponding policy implications. Author Biography
Zanxin Wang is professor at Yunnan University, China, in the fields of Natural Resources and environmental Economics, and Internal Economics. He has completed many projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Canada International Development Research Center, and Worldfish，which enabled him to publish many articles in international peer-reviewed journals, including Energy Policy, Journal of Environment and Development, Journal of Environmental Management, Biomass and Bioenergy, Journal of Forest Economics, and Journal of Greater Mekong Subregion Development Studies. He is now reviewer for many journals such as Energy, Energy Policy, Land Use Policy, and Journal of Sustainable Development.
