Why do the innocent suffer? How should the faithful respond to inexplicable loss? Why should they keep serving God? These questions and others like them are addressed in the book of Job. Mining this timeless biblical masterpiece for preaching and in-depth teaching can be challenging. But with the help of a reliable and insightful guide, the riches and wisdom of this enduring book are readily accessible to preacher, teacher, and layperson alike. Written by Old Testament scholar A. Wendell Bowes, Consider My Servant Job combines scholarly expertise and practical experience into a handbook for interpreting and presenting the message of Job to parishioners and students. Along with dozens of sermon topics and overviews, this resource includes potential sermon titles, practical applications, and series ideas.
