Product Description

by Dave P. Fisher (Author)

A strong-arm mining company, a boy running from killers, and an attempted kidnapping of his daughter brings Jason Donnelly out from under his Alaska cover to fight the crime family who thought they'd killed him twelve years before in CODE OF THE BUSH. Jason Donnelly thought he was a high level body guard for VIP's until he found out the people he worked for and guarded were the leaders of the Clemente crime family. Once in, you didn't get out. Determined to break away he is betrayed by his brother, resulting in his wife's death from the car bomb meant for him. Taking his four-year-old daughter, Jason escapes back to his native Alaska, adopts his old nickname of Duke, and takes up a gold claim in the bush. Duke realizes his cover has been blown when he learns that the mining company trying to push him out belongs to the Clemente family who are making a move for the Alaska territory. He has two choices - to leave everything and run again or stand and fight. Jason Duke Donnelly makes his choice - he's done running.

Author Biography

A successful, award winning writer of adventure and crime novels set in the 19th Century American West, Dave P. Fisher is expanding his collection of novels to include contemporary suspense/mystery crime novels. These novels are set in the 21st Century American West and Alaska, as opposed to exotic world and big city settings. The backyards, towns, and rural areas home-grown Americans will recognize. Those who grew up reading Jack London, James Oliver Curwood, Charley Niehuis, and Jane and Paul Annixter's outdoor adventure and crime stories will find a similar feel in Dave's novels, but with modern technology and police procedures. Staying true to yesterday's masters of outdoor-based adventures, these stories are for young and old to read and read again. Pornographic prose and profanity do not live here. Dave's writing influence comes from his ancestral roots. Mountain men, voyageurs, pioneers, and explorers make up the branches of his family tree. His paternal grandfather was Native Blackfoot from Montana. His maternal grandfather was a Minnesota lumberjack turned farmer, both men born in the late 1800's. As a lifelong outdoorsman, Dave has experienced life in the Alaska bush, as well as the wilderness of the Cascade and Rocky Mountains. He's been a working cowboy, guide, horsepacker, hunter, trapper, and fisherman. He also spent several years as a Colorado Deputy Sheriff. This experience in the law enforcement field allows him an intimate insight to the legal system which is woven into his contemporary crime stories. All of Dave's experiences ingrain his stories with authenticity and draw the reader into the story by their realism and a personal knowledge of the people and lifestyles involved.
