These elements are brought together into one book, eliminating the need to shuffle between separate method books. Volume 1 takes the student from absolute beginner to playing music on the grand staff, hands together, white keys only, with dynamics and articulation. The end result is a piano student who understands musical concepts and can apply them with skill and precision in the playing of beginner-level music, ready to begin Volume 2 Intermediate Basics for the Piano.Volume 1 Beginning Basics for the Piano includes: -Checksheets with projects listed for each workshop -Checkouts at the end of each workshop to review important points-Final exam at the end of the book-Music glossary-Individual subject, music, and workout indexes-Certificate of Completion-All necessary flashcardsFive workshops guide the student from learning the names of the keys through playing beginner-level arrangements of works by Bach, Beethoven and Mozart, American folk and patriotic songs, and original compositions by the authors.Music is presented in an easy gradient (learning curve) to build confidence. Each piece of music contains only the terms and notation learned up to that point.A fixed hand position (always placing a thumb on middle C) is not taught. Students learn to read and play notes with certainty, without this crutch.Note: For detailed information on how our products are used for beginning, intermediate and advanced curricula, please visit wehrlipubs.com/curricula/.
