Product Description

by Mike Maloney (Author)

My title is an obvious play on the often hotly debated socio-religious question, "Is coming out gay a function of predetermined biology (e.g., some DNA factor), or merely a function of one's lifestyle choice?" Let me level with you: What you are about to read will neither prove nor disprove either of these viewpoints. But what I do argue for--in this, my own true and improbable story of self-discovery--is that, in fact, there is a choice to be made by every guy, regardless of his age or family situation, who musters the courage to come out and live as a gay male. This choice is fundamental and damn hard to grapple with, let alone to finally make. To choose to accept the truth about who you really are, and then to live that way comfortably, proudly even. And this is THE only choice that really matters. Simply because, for the person making it, it's the singular life choice that takes inordinate self-confidence, along with unconditional faith and much hope--in everyone else's understanding and acceptance.
