Author Biography

Rabbi Gary M. Spero, J.D. has a B.A. from Yeshiva University of Los Angeles with a strong emphasis on ancient Hebrew and Aramaic sacred texts. A practicing maritime law attorney, Rabbi Spero received his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from Whittier College School of Law. Rabbi Spero was ordained by the Rabbinical Seminary International in 2003 after studying closely with Rabbi Joseph H. Gelberman, of blessed memory. Rabbi Spero is very active in the South Bay interfaith community. He was the Rabbi of Congregation Beth Torah, an independent Conservative synagogue in Torrance, CA from 2003-2012. He leads the Matzo Ball Minyan in Torrance, CA. Rabbi Spero, his wife Rebbetzin Sheryl L. Joiner Spero, MLIS and their two children and four cats reside in Torrance, CA.
