Product Description

by Cce Diane Probst (Author)

During her twenty-four-year career, Diane Probst, CCE, has learned a great deal about such topics as organization leadership and cash management through training programs and her experience as a chamber of commerce executive.

But it is her experience as a teenager, who was not only determined to succeed at baton twirling but also enthusiastic about helping others to succeed, that is behind her fulfilling career and outstanding performance in leading the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce to its five-star status.

In Chamberology, an all-in-one guide to maximizing your own and your chamber's potential, Probst taps into this deep well of enthusiasm to share her insights into the unique functioning and challenges of a chamber of commerce, discussing fifteen key elements for success.

First and foremost, you must understand for whom you are working. Chapters on innovative program ideas and bringing those programs to life also provide guidance specific to setting up a chamber of commerce.

Further insights include career advice, such as balancing work and home life and maintaining enthusiasm, along with professional advice on improving your financial, communication, and time-management skills.

Inspiring as well as educational, Chamberology is an invaluable resource for chamber of commerce professionals at every level of the organization. After you finish the book, read about how to obtain a fun "Chamberologist" T-shirt and certificate.

Author Biography

Diane Probst, CCE, grew up in the small town of Bryan, Texas, and graduated from nearby Texas A&M University, in College Station, with a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing. Her career began at Dillard's department store and took her through several jobs, including the role of supportive wife and mother of two small children, before landing her the position of executive director of the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce in 1990.

Drawing on her twenty-four-year experience leading the chamber toward excellence, she is launching a new program to educate and motivate chamber of commerce professionals, from staff to executives, to become the best that they can be with her inspiring book, Chamberology. In it, she offers an apt metaphor from her baton-twirling days: Find something in life that you are confident in, and when you drop the baton, just pick it back up and keep on going.
