Author Biography

The author and illustrator, Carol Ann (Chamrad) Szafranski is a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has had years of experience in Marketing and Advertising. She started her journey in a small town called Lower Burrell; a 1968 graduate of Burrell High School. After living many places throughout the United States, Carol Ann is happy to now reside in Maine. "I could not ask for a more beautiful place to live; it really feeds my soul. It is here that I have found my passion again for the thing I really love... art." It was just recently that Carol Ann went back to her artistic roots and started painting again after years of executive level jobs in the business world. "I especially love the art line 'Simply Penguins'. They are near and dear to my heart and needed to have a story told about them." Carol Ann lives in Brunswick with her husband Robert. She has a daughter Tamara Szafranski who is a Professor of English at the University of Southern Maine.
