Product Description

by Cat Cohen (Author)

A frugal, insightful, and visual journey across the U.S. by train and rent-a-car from the colorful desert southwest to the historic coastal northeast with stops in Albuquerque, Chicago, Buffalo, Albany, Gloucester, Fall River, Providence, Peekskill, New York City, and points in between. The author stays in youth hostels and budget motels, dines in regional eateries and tasty mom and pop cafes, and engages in stimulating conversations with locals from all walks of life. His observations of American culture and life styles captures our changing rural and urban landscape as he explores population demographics, climate change, and challenges our increasing dependence on electronic and cyber communication. Dozens of colorful photographs accompany this in-depth narrative.
