California Embossed Crown Top Bottles is an attempt to bring the often-over-looked embossed crown top bottles forward to be recognized and appreciated by collectors. The suggestion of this book was brought to me by Steve Bava and by Steve & Christie Curtis. It started off as a book I enjoyed doing but turned to sadness with the Corral Fire in Tracy that consumed Steve & Christie Curtiss' home and fabulous collections of blob top, gravitating stopper, hutch, crown top bottles, beer cans, arrowheads and general antiques that were throughout their home. They had collected everything imaginal with pride of every California hutch known except three. Dale Chase, North Bay Bottle Club Member, and I spent many Saturdays with Steve & Christie talking about bottles. It is fortunate that I still have many photos of their collections that I took on my cell phone, "unknowingly" becoming reference for their insurance purposes.
