Author Biography
Meier has been a job market expert and workforce system consultant for 20 years. Meier founded and built Chicago's largest independently owned employment consulting firm and has been consulting with state and regional Workforce Investment Boards (WIBs) to reduce unemployment rates, shorten length of unemployment and improve performance of workforce investment boards across the U.S. Meier researches a variety of job and employment macro/micro issues, including labor market dynamics as well as workforce performance & accountability. He has taught and published on a wide variety of employment issues. Meier is contracted annually by SETA (Southeastern Employment and Training Association) to train executives at 100+ workforce boards who run 1,200 Career OneStops on economic development as related to the impact of joblessness, long-term unemployment and revitalizing local economies through aggressive re-employment strategies. Meier has written five employment books, numerous magazine articles and has appeared many times on television and radio. Meier worked as a Job Market Expert adviser to government agencies, non-profits, Fortune-500 businesses and national associations.
