Steve is not only a diverse individual, he possess unique talents that set him apart from other authors concerning this subject matter. His vast personal knowledge and understanding about alcoholism qualify him to pen this story, experiences gained the hard way, living them day after day. Not only a by-product of alcoholism out of his youthful surroundings, regretfully generated the same dreadful settings for his family to suffer through. By overcoming and conquering difficulties that stun the mind, he was able to transform a life of total defeat into one of success. His enthusiasm about sharing his story, depicting the destruction he witnessed alcohol unleash throughout his family, is the impetus that motivates him to bring this story to life.A father he was forced to witness slowly deteriorate as a wet-brain alcoholic in a Veterans Hospital over a period of 20 years, watching his heroin addicted younger brother fight his whole life to gain some sense of normalcy, then discovering his older brother committed suicide because he couldn't cope with his dysfunctional life, and when his daughter divulged her addiction to prescription drugs, it all made him realize this story Born Broken needed to be shared. .
