Author Biography

After four seasons as a professional baseball player in the minor leagues, Joe Herpin began his extensive beverage alcohol career in 1956 as a twenty-three year old sales trainee for Brown Forman distillers in Louisville, Kentucky. When he left the company in 1983 he was a senior vice president and executive director of sales for their imports division, the Jos. Garneau company . Later, in addition to being president of Prestige Wine Imports, he held executive positions such as vice president of imports for Barton Brands Ltd, vice president of wines for Bohemian Distributors, western states regional manger for Palm Bay Imports, and director of sales and marketing for Tito's Handmade Vodka. As a national wine broker he personally placed Blackstone California wines in thirty three new markets. He formed his own company, Heritage Imports Ltd to bring ancient vintage Madeira wines to America. He recently finished writng a new book, Take Two and Hit to Right, about his four seasons of chasing his boyhood dream by becoming a professional baseball player
