S. Schilling-Kreutner grew up small town, Kansas. She earned a degree in English/Education from Wichita State University, with which she taught literature and composition. She currently resides in Maryland. In her spare time, she paints digitally, gardens, and makes periodic forays into amateur carpentry. She's a self-proclaimed Jim Butcher fangirl obsessed with squirrels.
