Product Description

by Sean Rubin (Author)

When Sybil learns her friend Bolivar, the last dinosaur, only likes corned beef sandwiches, she informs him that he's been missing out on one of the great attributes of New York City and it's rich communities--delicacies from around the world! Knishes! Falafel! Dim Sum! And it wouldn't be a story in the Big Apple without pizza . . .

Explore the five boroughs: Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, and Manhattan in this lushly illustrated Discovery Adventure from Eisner nominated writer and artist Sean Rubin where kids and parents alike search for their favorite foods, and find other sights unique to one of the greatest cities in the world!

Author Biography

Sean Rubin was born in Brooklyn, New York. As a city kid, he entertained himself by collecting interesting things, learning about unusual subjects, and by drawing characters from books. Bolivar, the first book Sean both wrote and illustrated, received three starred reviews and was nominated for an Eisner, EGL, and Ringo award. Sean was nominated for the 2018 Russ Manning Award for Most Promising Newcomer for his work on Bolivar. Sean also is an illustrator for the New York Times Bestselling Redwall series and of the upcoming Astronaut Who Painted the Moon (Scholastic, 2019) and Capital Magic (Holiday House, 2020). Sean graduated from Princeton University, where he met his wife, Lucy. They have two sons and live in Charlottesville, Virginia.
