Bloodline is part three of the Maxine Somers trilogy. It begins where part two left off, in the town of Royal Oaks, Minnesota, where Maxine Somers, the police chief's boyfriend, John Randall has been mysteriously abducted from the hospital.
This story chronicles the effort of Max's attempts to try to find him, and Randall's epic attempt to get back to her.
The adventure spans the continent, from Minnesota to the East Coast, to California and then back to Minnesota.
Max's efforts are hampered by a surprise visit from her daughter, who has a major surprise for her. She is aided by her boss, Mayor Stan Price, and his efforts to help her find him.
Randall's friends, both old and new, work behind the scenes to aid in trying to get Randall back home, despite the attempts of assassins both foreign and domestic, and the Minnesota weather, trying to stop him from re-uniting with Max.
