Lagos is often overlooked in birdwatching guides, which tend to focus on large, well-known areas elsewhere in the Algarve and so it is easy to miss this area altogether. However, for the visiting birdwatcher, the county of Lagos certainly deserves some attention. Indeed, this county has very diverse habitats - from cliffs to coastal wetlands and from small forest patches to scrub-covered hills.
