It is written in the prophets, and they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto Me (John 6:45).
The Bible tells us the things of God are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14). That means it is impossible to understand the Bible unless God explains it to us. That is why God made it clear in both the Old and New Testament that it is He that does the teaching. This should come as no surprise.
After all, Jesus did not send the disciples out to be taught by the Scribes and Pharisees before He put them to work; He trained them Himself. As a matter of fact, neither Jesus nor John the Baptist were trained by the Scribes and Pharisees.
As demonstrated by the life of Christ, it is God that is your teacher. Only He is qualified to teach you about the things of heaven. The heart of man is just too corrupt. The Bible tells us that in the last days Christians would be having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof (see 2 Timothy 3:1-5).
If ever there was a time in human history that we are dependent on God to teach us, it is now. The purpose of this book is not to point you to the "historical-critical" method of Bible interpretation, nor the "historical-grammatical" method, but to the one and only true method. It is a method that has existed for thousands of years. For want of a better expression, it's the "let God teach you" method.
God has a very distinct teaching technique. Over the years, He has taught me some deep things from His word, and I'm going to share some of those things with you. I'm going to show you what I was doing when He revealed those things to me.
The main purpose of this book is not so much to teach you how to read, study, and understand the Bible, but to show you how God goes about doing this. My goal is to help you position yourself so that you also can be taught by Him, in the same way that He has taught me.
God is eager to teach you and show you His ways. I hope and pray you will be blessed as you read through the pages of this book.

Luis is the son of three generations of preachers and has a passion for sowing the gospel seed. He is married and the father of an eight-year-old boy. He lives in Fincastle, VA.
