Product Description

by Saanvi Kishore Thakur (Author)

What if home isn't a place, but the sum of everywhere you've ever belonged-and not belonged?

In 'Between Mango Trees & Maple Leaves', Saanvi Thakur invites readers on an evocative journey across continents, cultures, and contradictions. From the chaotic warmth of Delhi's bazaars to the polished stillness of Ellicott City, Maryland, this coming-of-age memoir explores what it means to grow up in-between.

With wit, honesty, and vivid detail, Saanvi captures the messy beauty of life across India and the United States - navigating street food feasts, shopping malls that masquerade as cathedrals, festivals ablaze with fire and feeling, and quiet moments of reflection beside ancestral ponds. Along the way, she wrestles with identity, belonging, and the powerful pull of family roots.

Part travelogue, part cultural commentary, and wholly heartfelt, this is a story for anyone who's ever straddled two worlds and wondered where they truly fit.

About the Author:

Saanvi Kishore Thakur is an avid reader with a passion for storytelling across cultures. Born in India, she moved to the United States in second grade, returned to India in sixth, and moved back to the U.S. in eighth. Her debut book is a memoir that explores identity, memory, and belonging through the lens of her transcontinental upbringing. A ninth-grade student, she draws inspiration from books, travel, and the quiet moments in between. She lives in Maryland, where she is currently working on her next project and continues to explore the power of words to bridge worlds.
