Product Description

by Edward Hunt (Author)

A comprehensive, everything you need to know extensive guide covering screenwriting, getting films financed, making movies, editing them, and gaining distribution and awards while becoming internationally recognized for both documentaries and feature films, by a UCLA film school grad who made it happen dozens of times. Plus, a thorough workbook, making the entire presentation like a full film school curriculum.

Author Biography

Studying at UCLA in the late 1960s, Edward Hunt learned everything about filmmaking by doing, from writing scripts to cutting films. He worked in Hollywood before moving to Canada where he became a contemporary of David Cronenberg. Making a feature a year, he worked with higher budget films each time until having one distributed by a Hollywood major. His film for Warner Bros. "Starship Invasions" starred Christopher Lee and Robert Vaughn. Hunt followed with the international award-winning feature "M-3: The Gemini Strain" (originally titled "Plague"). From there he made the now-famous documentary, "UFOs Are Real" which received the Golden Scroll Award of Merit from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films. Other features followed like "Bloody Birthday" with Jose Ferrer, and the cult classic "The Brain." While making films in the style of Roger Corman, Hunt financed some on his own and learned about investments. He was able to pause his career to thoroughly research just what it was that makes films and screenplays work with an audience. This book is his first publication on that subject, literally everything an aspiring filmmaker needs to know and will learn in a decade of working in film, compressed into less than 500 pages. Hunt has returned to filmmaking and will be back on the screen soon with a new project. Meanwhile, he now offers you the chance to save yourself from all the headaches he suffered through in the early years of learning his craft. Enjoy!
