Product Description

by Carlita Delcorso (Author)

Created for novices and those individuals new to the world of hand-beaded fabrics, this is the second instructional book by Carlita on additional techniques used to bead on lace or embellish fabric and garments with custom beading. If you've ever wanted to embellish a sweater or blouse or rejuvenate your favorite little black dress, or learn how to add beaded embroidery to any fabric, this book will provide you with the beading techniques to do so. Step-by-step guides are provided as well as information about tools, materials, supplies and work area plus sample designs and patterns.

Author Biography

Carlita DelCorso has been providing clients with custom beading on garments for more than 50 years. From bridal attire to evening wear and competition dance and skating outfits, her unique designs and flawless work has won her the praise of thousands of customers. At the urging of her friends and clients, Carlita has recently written a series of books to provide a reference and instructional guides to novices who want to learn to add custom beadwork fabric and garments. She readily admits that she is not an author by trade and though she is more comfortable beading in her workroom, she is happy to share her vast knowledge of her trade. Never having attended a fashion design school, Carlita learned to bead as a very small child sitting at her grandmother's knee. Her grandmother was a master at custom beadwork, originally from Palermo, and her craft was an employment skill she used when she came to America. In remembrance of her grandmother, and because she so wants the craft of couture beadwork by hand to be enjoyed by others as she loves it, Carlita has provided readers with the same basics her grandmother taught her.
