While Joanne and her husband Tom Ekkens waited for his radiation treatments, they (and others in the waiting room) worked on the clues, which seemed to calm their nerves, raise their spirits, and even get a couple of laughs.
Author Biography
Joanne Shwed and her husband Tom Ekkens have lived in Pacifica since 1989. Through her business, Backspace Ink, she has provided editing and publishing services to authors since 1985. She has written several short stories and essays, some of which have won writing awards. Joanne (and friends) love to play music and, for 25 years, they volunteered for Bread & Roses, which provides entertainment to "shut-ins" in nursing and convalescent homes and hospitals.
