Product Description

by Michael H. Tirgan (Author)

The second edition of Atlas of Ear Keloids, comprising twelve chapters, updates the subject matter to include many more examples of primary, as well as secondary ear keloids; not only in adults but also in very young children. The second edition is printed in a larger format in order to add clarity to the images. Worsening of primary ear keloids after surgery is of great concern. Of course, there are patients whose ear keloids respond well to surgery, but we must not forget that there are many whose small primary keloids will relapse and worsen after surgical intervention, causing them great harm and stress. Numerous cases of secondary keloids are presented in this book. Without exception, all patients with very large ear keloids have had surgery in the past for treatment of much smaller primary keloids. Indeed, surgery is the only risk factor for causation of very large and life altering keloids.
