Product Description

by Jurgen Spanuth (Author)

This book presents a detailed study of the historical evidence for Atlantis. The author places Atlantis in the North Sea/North Atlantic area where it suffered its terrible fate around 1250 BC, which is a far more believable date than the one commonly given as being over 11,000 years ago. The author studied archaeology and theology at university and became a minister in the Bordelum area of Germany. He identified Heligoland, an island in the North Sea as the ancient location of Atlantis, which is only a fraction of its previous size today. Extensive underwater structures were found by a dive that the author organized there in the early 1950s and was reported in Life Magazine. Despite the impressive mass of supporting evidence, Spanuth was called a liar and many academics tried to silence him completely. The author brought them to court and won. Being German may have allowed him access to the prehistoric research archives of the Ahneberbe, an advanced group of scientists put together by the Nazis. He was therefore labelled as a Nazi, which he and his publisher denied. Whether this is true or not, Spanuth claimed that the only agenda he had in writing his books was the pursuit of historical truth. Numerous scholars have admitted that many of the theories presented by the author are hard to disprove. This book could, in fact, be the answer to the mystery of Atlantis.
