Product Description

by Gary Todd (Author)

'Annie's Boy' is a coming-of-age story as seen through the eyes of a boy and his mum living in Scotland in the 1970's and 80's where fear, violence and struggle was an everyday part of life. It is a story of hope and quiet courage and perseverance that will take you on an emotional roller coaster that spans over fifteen years of their lives and what they did to survive. Gary and his mother lived in fear at the intimidation and violence that came from his father. At the age of ten, he agreed to testify against his father in court to try and stop the ordeal from continuing. The book is also a look at the tough and gritty life of Dundee during the period. 'Annie's Boy' will seize the heart of every reader as they struggle to put his book down.

Author Biography

Internationally acclaimed author of the revolutionary Workouts from Boxing's Greatest Champs and other popular boxing-related works alike, Gary Todd took a particular interest in the sport at a young age, from which he developed a passion. Born in Dundee, Scotland, Todd bravely endured his violent childhood alongside his mother and older sister during the 1970's and 80's, as they constantly lived in fear of his father's unpredictable violence, whilst simultaneously struggling to make ends meet. Hence, Gary Todd became determined to learn how to box at age eleven in the name of self-defence. Gary has written 2 international bestsellers which have sold over 50,000 copies. This is his most important story.
