Product Description

by Nikita Ogurtsov (Artist), G. de Gwymbach (Author)

A book of drawings and associated poems. A lively compendium of Angels (good and bad) and other characters that have slipped off Nikita's pen onto the drawing board. Once so grounded they are pounced upon by de Gwymbach and tagged with a few lines of poetry.

As is natural with Angels most are depicted in a state of déshabillé, and the 'others' have tended towards a similar inclination. The result is a delightful assortment of young ladies, occasionally accompanied by gross men and other monsters. Such sketches, bordering upon erotica may offend, that is not our intention. They should be viewed and read with humour.

Each sketch is accompanied by a poem. There is a preponderance of limericks as these rather suit the subject matter, but also Haiku, Sonnets, Free Verse and other poetic forms. The poems are mainly amusing accompaniments to the sketches, although occasionally they strike a moralistic tone.

The book is not really one to 'read' from cover to cover, but is one for dipping into whenever you feel like some lightheaded entertainment.
