Jesus said in Mark 4:13 - "And He (Jesus) said to them (the disciples), 'Do you not understand this parable? How will you understand all the parables?'" Is Jesus suggesting that the understanding of this parable was necessary for the understanding of all that He was teaching? The themes of each of the Gospels/Acts are identified based on the nature of the soils in the parable.
