Still, they cannot be verified due to the lack of original documentation. Some tales are true, while others lend towards legend. Regardless, Jill Jacob's ancestry is truly unique and represents the best of the pioneering spirit of her family who settled in both New Jersey and New York. One of them was the Captain of the Sea Venture, the 3rd supply ship to the Jamestown Colony which floundered on the Bermuda Shoals and was the inspiration for Shakespeare's "The Tempest."
