Author Biography

Shamcher Beorse had been a pupil of the Sufi Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan during the 1920's, after which he became deeply involved in his professional life, eventually pioneering Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) in North America until his passing in 1980. Beorse travelled to over 65 countries worldwide and was active as an economist and engineer, as well as in the sufi effort. During World War II he was a member of the Norwegian Under- ground, worked with MI5, and participated in a plot to kidnap Hitler. A contemporary western mystic, he was both a yogi and a sufi who inspired his students to discover answers gradually for themselves.
