Product Description

by Three Trails Conference (Author), Kathryn Huelster (Author), Dick Huelster (Author)

This guide, created for the Three Trails Conference of 2015, tells the history of the El Camino Real, the Santa Fe Trail, and the Old Spanish Trail as they traced their paths across the state of New Mexico.

Author Biography

The 2015 Three Trails Conference committee is made up of representatives of the three organizations: the Santa Fe Trail Association, the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro Trail Association, and the Old Spanish Trail Association. The three organizations provided content and photographs for the guide and map.

Kathryn Huelster, author of Dance Ceremonies of the Northern Rio Grande Pueblos, has studied the peoples of the Southwest and Native Americans. She is a former docent at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture and the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis. She now lives in Santa Fe with her husband, Dick.

Dick Huelster has happily pursued his love of archaeology by doing extensive examinations of sites, surveying, and mapping for the Office of Archeological Studies.
