Product Description

by Dick Pate (Author)

This is a book about two young boys' adventures in Liberia, West Africa in 1949 and 1950. Two years of excitement and trials of living with drinking parents and many dangerous situations that they confronted. Some of the information for this book were from letters sent home weekly to grandparents in Flint, Michigan by the boys' mother. Letters were dated and saved by the grandmother. Many happenings were omitted in these letters and this story fills in the between the lines events that weren't mentioned. Africa was and is full of dangers and two young boys from Michigan were on their own much of the time to explore and learn about the Dark Continent.
