Product Description

by Ann Jacobs (Author), Lisa Sheppard (Other)

These abstracts represent the information contained in the first book of deeds in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, for June 1889 to July 1893. The information listed in this volume includes the book and page number of the deed, the name(s) of the grantor/seller, grantee/buyer, date of the contract, date of filing if noted, property description, type of instrument, pertinent commentary contained in the deed, and any witnesses listed on the original deed. Many deeds had only one date, which is presumed to be the date of the contract. Many deeds had no witnesses other than the local recording clerk, or notary public, and are not listed. The names of all parties appear exactly as shown in the original documents. As the book includes the handwritten records of numerous individual clerks, these vary a great deal. An index of every person listed in the deed abstracts, and an index of places add to the value of this volume.
