Product Description

by Annemarie Godston (Author)

This book is a journey of gardening pleasures and tasks, encountered by every gardener. Although it is written about New England gardening experiences, it is appropriate for any gardener who lives within USDA Horticultural Zones 3-7, an area where the temperature regularly drops to between minus 10 degrees F. and (occasionally) minus 40 degrees F. during the winter months. The book contains vignettes of personal gardening experiences and advice; as well as a monthly calendar of gardening chores. It ends with a very simple glossary of gardening terms.

Author Biography

Annemarie Godston was certified as a Master Gardener in both Connecticut and New Hampshire. She has gardened extensively in both states. She has led workshops and lectures, including the teaching of various gardening techniques for adult students at ILEAD (Institute for Lifelong Education At Dartmouth) in Hanover, NH. While in New Hampshire, she generated a website, which soon became a blog, answering gardening questions, on-line, for many years. This book was inspired by that blog. It appeared that many gardeners benefited from the gardening calendar, and were interested, as well as engaged, by personal stories from her own gardening experiences. "A Year In My New England Garden" is a combination of both personal gardening stories, and calendars for New England gardeners. To clarify some gardening terms, the book also includes a very simple, and basic glossary, intended for the benefit of beginning gardeners.
