On the road through life there are many crossroads. At every crossroad or fork in the road a decision has to be made - which path should I take? Many decisions have little importance as to what kind of life we will enjoy but there are numerous paths that we could have taken which would have led us to a completely different life, perhaps better, perhaps worse. Of course with hindsight it is easy to see the mistakes we made, the paths we should have avoided. But if we had a second chance at life, would we make the same mistakes again? Simon had such a chance.

His early life had been very difficult obliging him to go down paths where he had no choice, but later when he could make choices he often took often the wrong turnings which in the end led to disastrous consequences. But then in an extraordinary way he was offered a second chance at life in a new, different, world. The question was: would he make the same mistakes again or be determined to live a different life? That was a question that only Simon could answer. Hopefully one day, like Simon, may we also have a second chance at life.
