Product Description

by Jon J. Cardwell (Author)

For family and individual meditations, containing, Robert Murray McCheyne's DAILY BREAD (which includes an adjustment for Leap Years), the Westminister Shorter Catechism, the WESTMINSTER CONFESSION of FAITH, and selected hymns and psalms. All Scriptures contained in this volume are from the New American Standard Bible--Robert Murray M'Cheyne's DAILY BREAD is a systematic Bible plan with scripture portions from the Bible to read daily in the morning and evening, for individuals and families, so that the Bible may be read completely through in the course of one year (the New Testament & Psalms twice, and the Old Testament once). --The WESTMINSTER SHORTER CATECHISM contains 107 basic questions and answers of simple Biblical truth, based upon the 1644 Westminster Confession of Faith, so that the disciplined (not vain) repetitions and meditation upon those Biblical truths will aid in causing the truth to sink into the soul. --The WESTMINSTER CONFESSION of FAITH contains 33 small chapters detailing, in systematic form, the theology of Bible truth. --Seven select, well-known hymns are included at the end of this little book, followed by seven select psalms from the 1650 Scottish Psalter. Having all of these elements combined in a singular place will aid the serious Bible student in disciplined singings, readings, and meditations on God's Word daily. Its compilation into one unit makes this book unique and useful, and more likely to be used.

Author Biography

Jon has recently been blessed and privileged to have been called in December 2008 by Sovereign Grace Baptist Church as the congregation's pastor. He has been the pastor there since January 2009. After fruitful pastoral ministries to the Aleut people of the remote Alaskan fishing village of King Cove and to the Yup'ik Eskimos of the remote Alaskan fishing village of Scammon Bay, he and his family left Alaska on January 23, 2008 when symptoms that were once thought to be Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (aka ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease) began to manifest in 2006. After extensive testing at Loma Linda University Medical Center, and continued testing at Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center, a diagnosis was slow to come. When it did, it was rescinded. Although the symptoms are just like those of ALS, his ailments remain "unidentified." There is still a possibility that his ailments may be ultimately diagnosed as Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS).
