Author Biography

About the Author/Photographer: Robert Frutos Robert is one of Hawai'i's most well-known professional nature photographers & camera artists. Robert has written several inspirational and/or educational photography books including: Photographing Hawaii: Capturing the Beauty and Spirit of the Islands, published by Island Heritage Publishing, Hawaii Inspiration Afire: A Passion for the Magnificent and Light on Hawaii: Capturing the Dynamic Islandscape A Photographers Approach. Robert, who resides in Volcano village, right outside Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, has spent untold hours throughout the park - exploring tropical rainforest lushness, vast barren lava fields, viewing Halema'uma'u Crater, hiking the rugged Kau wilderness. As well as, the extraordinary and distinctive Puna coastline, and seeking out the best and most photogenic, grand and intimate photo locations. Robert's credits include Sierra Club publications and many of the nation's top nature calendar companies. His work has appeared in national magazines and adorns many a book cover. Robert has served as a featured writer offering both photo techniques and inspiration - for Sierra Heritage Magazine Moreover, Robert is the founder of The Light of Aloha Foundation, which offers ancient practices and contemporary creative tools for inspiration, transformation, and healing. Robert has created a unique body of work woven together from a broad spectrum of training and varied experiences as a teacher, educator and counselor, photographer, and healing practitioner.
