Product Description

by Barry James Hickey (Editor), Benjamin Hummel (Illustrator), Terry Wolfe (Author)

A coming-of-age story set in the 1950's about a young girl living on a small working cattle ranch on the eastern edge of the Colorado Rockies. Josephine "Jo" Wilson has much to learn about her animals, herself, her family and friends and especially Misha, an older dog she adopts and trains to become a herding dog. This story is a reminder of a better and simpler era growing up outside the sprawl of big cities.

Author Biography

Terry Wolfe grew up on a working Colorado cattle ranch in the 1950's where wild and domesticated animals engaged each other with the changing of the seasons. It was a time filled with natural wonder.
