One Saturday morning, the farm animals are all abuzz. A new animal is coming to stay at the farm! The horses have heard there will be a new little puppy.
The new puppy's name is Vanessa, and she is a German shepherd who is as black as night. She quickly becomes everyone's friend-dogs, cats, and horses alike. She goes everywhere with Mama and Pap and watches over them with love. Then one day she goes to see the vet, who discovers that Vanessa has cancer. The treatments are hard, and her life changes a lot. But with strength and determination, she can get better and teach everyone around her about love and community.
In this children's story, a puppy becomes a member of the family and a friend to all on the farm and then faces a health crisis that changes her life and the lives of all those around her.
